One of the representative folk toys of Fukushima Prefecture from Fukuman Kokuzoson Enzo Temple in Yanaizu of Aizu. The red body wards off evil spirits.
When he soaks in an onsen, he always says, "I'm going to make good soup stock."

"Shirakawa Daruma"
A good luck charm made around 300 years ago by Matsudaira Sadanobu Rakuoko, the Lord of Shirakawa Castle, in the hope of the castle town thriving.
He complains of stiff shoulders and a backache, even though he has neither shoulders nor a back.

"Okiagarikoboshi"
A folk toy of the Aizu region with a 400-year history. It symbolizes the Japanese proverb, "Life is a succession of ups and downs." You buy more than the number in your family, in the hope that your family will continue growing. It's simplicity has given rise to Koboshis with a wide range of designs.

"Kokeshi Mama (a Tsuchiyu Kokeshi Doll)"
She is the proprietress of Barroom Kokeshi. She is a kokeshi doll from Tsuchiyu Onsen, a hot spring resort in Fukushima City. She doesn't talk much, and is enshrouded in mystery, but she is well-known among the folk toys as the proprietress of the bar.
