The Tajima Gion Festival attracts many visitors from all over the country every year.
The highlights are the local children's Kabuki performances on the festival floats and the bridal procession!
It's a traditional cultural event that everyone should see at least once.

The Aizu-Tajima Gion Festival is one of the three biggest Gion festivals in Japan. On the first day, the annual festivities are held at Tadeuga Shrine and Kumano Shrine. There is also a votive drum performance and Urayasu dance performance which are spectacular to watch.

The opening ceremony is held in front of the station. There are various festivities and also food trucks! There’s so much to see.

The stalls start setting up at 12:00, instantly creating a festive atmosphere! There are also many local shops, so you can enjoy distinctive Minamiaizu products here as well.

The children's kabuki performance finally begins at 4 pm on four floats. In the dim light, the sight of it lit by the lanterns is magical. I can't help but watch intently.

The second day starts with the bridal procession, known as the Nanahokai seven-line procession. We’re walking around the town of Tajima. I'm entranced by the beautiful brides.
