The Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework
The Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework aims to recover industries in Coastal Region and other areas devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear disaster, by establishing a new industrial foundation. This national project revolves around three core pillars: "A region where people can take on any challenge," "Local companies as major players," and "Fostering human resources who will play a major role in the initiative." It focuses on key sectors such as decommissioning, robotics/drones, energy/environment/recycling, agriculture/forestry/fisheries, medical-related industries, and aerospace, positioning them as priority fields in the Hamadori region. The project is actively working towards the realization of these fields through industrial clustering, human resource development, expansion of social interaction, information dissemination and infrastructure development, including enhancing living environments.
